The Hanson House Foundation presented the 18th Annual Festival in the Canyons Saturday, May 18th outdoors and under the southwest stars at the picturesque Indian Canyon Golf Resort in Palm Springs. This 18th annual charity benefit began with a Lakeside Reception followed by a three course sit down dinner with wine parings. Dancing and entertainment was by the four time Grammy Award Winner, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and former Eagles lead guitarist Don Felder presenting “An Evening at the Hotel California” featuring an array of favorite hits from Felder’s long career with one of the world most famous rock and roll bands. Guests were invited to begin the day of festivities Saturday morning May 18th with the “Hanson House Classic Charity Golf Tournament” on the Indian Canyons South Course teeing off at 7:30am.

All proceeds from the Festival benefitted the Hanson House Foundation, the Coachella Valley’s first and still only hospital hospitality house. The Mission Statement of the Hanson House is very simple. “To provide a community supported facility with low or no cost services whose dedicated staff and volunteers are committed to making available a safe, clean and caring temporary Home Away From Home for the families of the critically ill and injured.”

Hanson House has sixteen guest rooms accommodating up to sixty-four guests per night. Since opening in December of 2003, more than 8,000 families have been served with more than 18,000 guest nights. Hanson House has a volunteer staff operating 365 days per year.
