FIND Food Bank, in partnership with CBS Local 2, held its 7th annual telethon April 7.

The broadcasted event provided FIND Food Bank with an opportunity to speak directly with the community about fighting hunger locally. More than 200 volunteers worked the phones and sorted food drive donations and fresh produce in the warehouse. This year’s event raised $211,000, including a dollar-for-dollar match from an anonymous donor.

Founded in 1983, FIND Food Bank is the regional food bank serving eastern Riverside County, from Whitewater to Blythe, and from the High Desert to the Salton Sea. FIND (Food In Need of Distribution) is dedicated to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and problems associated with hunger by building awareness and mobilizing resources and community members to take action to end hunger. Their network of community-based partners distributes more than 10 million pounds of food assistance annually to an average 85,000 people each month across the service area.

FIND is a member of Feeding America and the California Association of Food Banks. To learn more about how you can help, call FIND Food Bank at 760-775-3663 or visit findfoodbank.org.
