The buzz continues to follow Eight4Nine Restaurant & Lounge after its doors opened this month in Palm Springs’ Uptown Design District.

Since beginning the renovation of the building at 849 N. Palm Canyon Drive back in January, the anticipation has grown over what co-owners Willie Rhine and John Paschal would create out of what was once the old Palm Springs Post Office dating back to the mid-1950s.

The result has been packed houses and an ambiance and menu that customers are calling an eclectic experience.

The restaurant interior offers a mix of modern and rustic furnishings with striking colors against a white backdrop.

Executive Chef Chuck Courtney’s menu features West Coast Modern American Cuisine. There is a daily four-course prix fixe dinner available at $44 per person, a Happy Days menu served all day in the lounge including a $9 section, and vegetarian and gluten free options.

The restaurant is available for private events and special gatherings for parties of 2 to 300.

Eight4Nine Restaurant & Lounge will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday thru Friday, for brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and dinner from 5 p.m. every day.
