Don’t expect a shiny apple to impress teachers at the new school in Rolle, Switzerland. They have street cred with the likes of Bulgari, Chopard, and Rolex. The Swiss Retail Management Institute for Watches & Jewellery on the shores of Lake Geneva will train “the new generation of high jewellery and ‘haute horlogerie’ retailers.” The full course (350 sessions divided into three periods of four weeks separated by four months) is offered for about 15 students who already have basic gemological knowledge. Among the many topics covered are brand management, luxury, behavior, and security. Tuition is 18,000 Swiss francs (about $20,000).
