The interplay of rocks, water, and sunlight in Tahquitz Canyon inspired Kent and Jackie Frankstone of Tarrytown, N.Y., who blurred photos taken by Kent in April to create abstract designs for their collections of pillows and scarves. The Frankstones visit Jackie’s sister, who lives in the desert, for two weeks each spring and enjoy local hiking. An 18-by-18-inch, feather-and-down pillow covered in silk/cotton twill runs $120. The 60-by-9-inch, silk chiffon scarves run $75.
