You know that “place” where everybody knows your name…that unique little neighborhood bistro where you are always welcome.

La Rue Café Wine Bar in Old Town La Quinta aims to become that “got to” spot where you can count on a great meal, fine beverages, and a familiar warm smile.

Opening in late 2014, owner Steve Rosen has created a cool hangout and meeting place where folks can relax and celebrate local flavors and fresh California cuisine. La Rue presents a California-focused menu complimented by local craft beers with a dozen local micro-brews on tap and an extensive California wine list showcasing many different varietals.

“We cater to what’s new and unique, local and fresh and quite frankly, what people want,” Rosen says. “We aim to please our local neighborhood customers with a changing menu that meets their tastes, and we really concentrate on the small, homegrown aspects of food and beverage to showcase a California perspective as well as provide good home-cooked meals with a flair for local grown products.”

La Rue Café Wine Bar will be a newcomer to the desert’s upcoming Palm Springs Restaurant Week, which runs May 29 through June 7, featuring more than 100 restaurants across the Coachella Valley. La Rue will be offering a prix fixe menu for $26 per person excluding beverages, tax, and gratuity.

“Restaurant Week is a great way to get the word out that we are here for our locals, and we have great food to share with this community,” Rosen says. “We want to give back locally and support local farmers and small businesses. We want to promote California local products and services, and be that place to take your family and friends.”
