Joshua Tree Study (2007), digital print on archival paper, artist proof.

CHARI GODAKANDA was fascinated with photography as a child in his native Sri Lanka, and he was 10 when his parents purchased his first camera, a Kodak 110. As a teenager, he focused his lens on wildlife. In 1996, he moved to Palm Springs and now takes stateof- the-art into the extremes of the Coachella Valley and beyond. Selections from his recent Joshua Tree Studies series will appear in a group show, Contemporary California Desert Photography, at Edenhurst Gallery beginning in March.
