Readers of Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBTQ) fiction will have an opportunity to meet authors, hear them read their own work and participate in question-answer sessions during a four-day free event in Palm Springs.

The seventh annual Palm Springs Bold Strokes Books LGBTQ Book Festival will be held Feb. 28 to March 3 featuring a variety of authors representing genres of sci-fi, poetry, and erotica with LGBTQ themes and characters.

Events will be split between the Palm Springs Public Library and the Casitas Laquita Resort, 450 E. Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs. For more information and schedule, visit the Bold Strokes Books website.

The two library events will be split between lesbian and gay authors. The women will participate in an author roundtable from 6-7:30 p.m. March 1 in the Learning Center of the Library.  Authors Justine Saracen, Kathy Knowles, Robin Silverman, M.L. Rice, Barbara Ann Wright, and Julie Cannon will read from their works in-person and answer reader questions. Author Carsen Taite will moderate the evening.

On March 3, gay male writers present their works in “Gay Male Fiction: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” from 4-5:30 p.m. Nell Stark will moderate authors Felice Picano, David-Matthew Barnes, Ken O’Neill, Eric Andrews-Katz, and Joel Gomez-Dossi.

The authors will also meet the public at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at Hunters Nightclub, 302 E. Arenas, in Palm Springs. At the resort, there will be card and board games between book fans and authors starting at 7:30 p.m. March 2.
