Luke’s Legacy, a non-profit organization who states they “Unite People with Paws” held a beautiful event and awarded checks to three animal organizations, including the Humane Society of the Desert. Lunch was served with sparkling wines and trays of gourmet cookies for dessert. President of Luke's Legacy Melanie Sheerer and the Board of Directors hosted the event. Luke’s Legacy mission is to financially give aid to a diverse selection of nonprofit animal rescue operations whose ultimate goal is to place the rescues in viable forever homes; to provide financial support for the prevention of more unwanted animals through worthwhile spaying and neutering programs and to give financial support to veterinarians associated with nonprofit rescue centers whose pawed patients are unable to receive crucial treatment due to the financial constraints of their owners.
