Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert, The Galen and Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden kicked off the season with the exciting annual membership drive party, Meet The Galen, on Friday, November 21. The event welcomed returning members and new members to the museum, in which over 800 tickets were sold.
Event chairs Jamie Kabler and Susan Stein personally greeted each attendee while statuesque pink-haired models wearing Grayse fashions welcomed them along the red carpet. This year’s theme was Hollywood glamour with attendees sporting their most creative attire. A diverse ensemble of fashions embraced the theme, including top hats, flappers, gowns and party dresses.
Big band tunes were spun by DJ Alf Alpha bringing to life the glamour of all the eras, complimented with film footage of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
Joining the event were museum donors Helene Galen, Donna MacMillan, Faye Sarkowsky and Harold Matzner – collectively underwriting the event – and celebrities Suzanne Summers, Lucie Arnaz and Larry Luckinbill. Honorary chairs this year included Suzanne Summers, Lucie Arnaz and Barry Manilow. All proceeds from Meet the Galen benefit museum operations, exhibitions and education programs.
