A new addition to this year's Modernism Week, which starts Feb. 12, is CAMP, a 30,000 square foot tent space in Palm Springs to act as a central headquarters and gathering place for the event.

The fun quotient has just been amped up 10-fold for Modernism Week attendees.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the annual confab of modernistas, a central headquarters has been created to schmooze, sashay, and satiate your thirst.

CAMP (Community and Meeting Place) will be 30,000 square foot stylish, tented festival hub and lounge situated at the gateway to Palm Springs’ Uptown Design District. Open during Modernism Week, midcentury modern lovers can catch up with pals, purchase tickets, grab a coffee, snack or cocktail and enjoy live entertainment.

Live entertainment will be part of the offerings at CAMP.

Modernism Week organizers will launch CAMP on opening day, Feb. 12, with a 10th Anniversary Opening Night Party: Modernism Eclectic Dance Blast, featuring DJ Jason Bentley, KCRW’s musical director. The event kicks off the 10-day celebration of all things modern with this rollicking dance party.

CAMP will also to act as a central departure and check-in location for the Double Decker Architectural Bus Tours, host uber cool events – entertainment, films, and lectures – and a daily Happy Hour from 3-6 p.m. throughout Modernism Week.

Some notable CAMP events:

Feb. 12: Vintage Trunk Show, 3-6 p.m. in the Room & Board Hospitality Lounge

Feb. 13-14: Vosges Chocolate Tasting – just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Feb. 18: “Eichler Day” – a daylong celebration of Joseph Eichler, a social visionary and developer of residential modern architecture, including a panel, film and tour of the newly completed first Eichler home.

Feb. 16, 17, 19, 20, 22: Renovation Insights Series – This series is presented by Ferguson covering a variety of decorating and preservation topics.

Access to CAMP and all CAMP events are open to the public with the purchase of a wristband – $20 for 1-5 days, $30 for 10-days – and can be purchased at the door or in advance.
