Vintage Vehicles
Check out a classic Cadillac or examine a De Soto circa 1960 during Casual Concours Palm Springs on Oct. 15. You might even drive away with a 1965 Imperial LeBaron, which will be raffled off during the event courtesy of Great Autos of Yesteryear, the LGBT car club hosting the event. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., an eclectic assortment of more than 150 exotic and classic automobiles will blanket the green grounds of Indian Canyons Golf Resort. For only $10, auto aficionados will fawn over automobiles built during the 1920s through the 1990s. Past shows featured rare vehicles in pristine condition, including a 1926 Studebaker Duplex Phaeton and a 1940 Packard Darrin Custom Super One-Eighty Victoria Convertible worth around $750,000.

Great Autos of Yesteryear is the largest gay and lesbian car club on the West Coast with more than 1,000 members representing over 3,000 cars. This marks the third year the Los Angeles-based organization will hold the annual exhibition in Palm Springs. “We have members all over Southern California, including a huge number of members in the Palm Springs area,” says club president Sanford Doi.

The event benefits Desert Outreach Foundation, Desert AIDS Project, and the Golden Rainbow Center. Visit www.greatautos.org for more information.
