Palm Springs is a nominee for Best Golf Destinations as part of the 10 Best Readers Choice Awards being promoted by USA TODAY.

Fans of Palm Springs and its golf courses can vote online once a day until April 21 at

Palm Springs joins the following destinations in the Best Golf Destination category:

Palm Springs has multiple golf courses including Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort, which has been rated by Golf Digest as “one of the best places to play.”

The Legend Course designed by William Bell in the 50’s boasts a traditional country club style layout with narrow tree lined fairways. The Resort Course is a desert style layout designed in 1995 by famed course designer Ted Robinson.

The Nicklaus-design championship golf course, Escena Golf Club, is the latest addition to the golf community including a mid-century modern clubhouse that reflects the heritage of Palm Springs, and an onsite full-service restaurant.

According to club history, the starter shack on the North Course of the Indian Canyons Golf Resort had a “red phone” tied directly to the White House. Former Presidents Lyndon B Johnson, Ronald Reagan, and Gerald R. Ford spent their vacations here. Follow the trail of the famous men on the Indian Canyons Golf Resort’s two courses: the North Course and South Course.

In the shadows of the majestic San Jacinto & Santa Rosa Mountain Ranges, the Mesquite Golf and Country Club and the 9-hole Bel Air Greens are also open to the public.
