Site Staff Social Scene

On Wednesday, October 23, the Palm Springs Art Museum held its first LUEY (Let Us Entertain You) party of the season at the newly revamped Purple Room in South Palm Springs.  Party hosts Laurie and Larry Weitz and co-hosts Tony Marchese and Mark Van Laanen offered A Night of Surprises at the Grand Reopening of The Purple Room at Club Trinidad.  Seventy five party guests were offered a sneak peak at the newest Palm Springs venue and sampled delectable cocktails and tasty appetizers as they listened to a series of performers including The Gand Band, Bobbie Eakes, and Shari Belafonte.  The evening also featured a host of surprising entertainers, including stilt walkers, magicians and burlesque dancers. Guests included Barbara and Gene Berlanti, Jacques Caussin, Robert Moon and Robert Hammack, Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet, Ann Sheffer and Bill Scheffler, and Tom Truhe. LUEY parties benefit the Palm Springs Art Museum and will be held throughout the year at various locations.  Many of the parties still have room, so go to the LUEY page on the museum’s website (http://www.psmuseum.org/palm-springs/council/event/let-us-entertain-you-luey/) for more details.  Or call the MAC office at (760) 322-4816 to find out which parties still have space to make your reservations.
