Palm Springs Attracts Gay, Lesbian Visitors

Gay Life in Paradise

Site Staff Arts & Entertainment, Attractions, Hotels & Resorts, Real Estate

Greater Palm Springs is an LGBT haven. Welcoming and encouraging lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people for decades, the Coachella Valley offers acceptance of alternative lifestyles and in return basks in the pink glow created by LGBT movers and shakers. From exquisite art to elaborate event planning and hosting to stunning design and architecture, the gay community brings a wealth of talent and tenacious determination to the area.

In Palm Springs, nearly half of the city’s full-time residents are reported to be gay or lesbian. Beautiful weather and easy proximity to Los Angeles and San Diego further enshrine the valley as a hospitable place for a diverse population. The desert provides more gay and gayfriendly restaurants, nightclubs, hotels, retailers, and other businesses per capita than any other gay destination.
