Jumping eight spots from last year, the City of Palm Springs has received the 2015 Travelers’ Choice Awards by TripAdvisor for Top 10 Destinations in the U.S., ranking No. 9, according to the annual ranking.
“Making the TripAdvisor Top 10 list is more proof that Palm Springs is fast becoming one of the most popular destination in Southern California,” said Mary Jo Ginther, director of Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism. “We are honored to be recognized by our visitors and appreciate their reviews and opinions about their trips to Palm Springs."

Over the past five years, the City of Palm Springs has invested millions of dollars into hotel and business incentive programs. New and rebranded hotels, along with new dining and entertainment venues have resulted in a significant increase in visitors. The city’s destination marketing organization, Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism, reaches out across the globe to communicate the legacy of the city, the current business environment and new experiences to visitors.

Over a dozen new and renovated hotels have opened recently, with several more brand projects launching this and next year. New establishments to dine, dance, and play have burst onto the Palm Springs scene, adding more “hip” and “cool” to the city’s already attractive vibe.
Over the past several years, Palm Springs hotels have received multiple TripAdvisor awards. Most recently, eight Palm Springs boutique hotels received the 2015 Travelers’ Choice Awards in the following top categories: Best Small Hotel, Hotels for Service, Romance and Bargain.
Travelers’ Choice Destinations honor top travel spots worldwide based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers. Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, attractions and restaurants in destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.
