Palm Springs has always thought to have a romantic allure.

Now it’s official.

The city has been designated among the country’s romantic destinations compiled by Travel and Leisure magazine.

The posting says Palm Springs wins over couples with a combination of “palm trees and “clear desert skies”.

“But there’s more to do than poolside lounging: head to the picturesque Indian Canyons to climb, bike, or horseback ride past waterfalls, streams, giant rock formations, and more than 150 miles of trails. Make a picnic beneath a canopy of palms. Or wander the bistros, art galleries, and shops of Palm Canyon Drive housed in Spanish and Midcentury Modern buildings,” according to the posting.

For where to stay, Travel & Leisure picked Korakia Pensione in downtown Palm Springs, which has no phones or TVs.

“…so there’s ample time to tune in to each other. The steamy, zero-edge pool is studded with fire pits and lanterns, and the hotel shows classic movies under the stars.”

The list of the 15 destinations includes: Sedona, Ariz.; Kauai, HI; Texas Hill Country, Texas; Berkshires, Mass.; Charleston, SC; New York City; Palm Springs, Calif.; Jackson, WY; Depoe Bay, Ore.; Lower Waterford, VT; La Jolla, Calif.' Lanesboro, Minn.; Amelia Island, Fla., and Estes Park, Colo.
