Sample beer both by itself in a glass and also in food recipes, Sept. 12-13, at the Beer Culture: Craft Beer Weekend at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs. Three local breweries will be present: Babe's Bar-B-Que, Coachella Valley Brewing Co. and La Quinta Brewing Co.

Anchored at the Renaissance Palm Springs, Sept. 13-14, this kickoff to the festival season delivers a cross-section of talents from artists, like first-time Bernard Hoyes whose pieces have been purchased by Oprah and Richard Pryor, to food vendors to sampling bottles of wines.

The songs you still remember the words to is exactly what you'll hear when you go see "Top Rock" at the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs, running Friday and Saturday nights through September.
