Richard MacDonald, world-renowned American figurative sculptor, was featured in the annual solo exhibition of Perfect | Balance at Dawson Cole Fine Art in Palm Desert on El Paseo. Guests were dazzled by Cirque du Soleil inspired performances of acrobatic dancers in a live performance that evening. A reception for the artist was held Saturday January 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Sunday, January 25th from Noon to 3:00 P.M.
Art can be seen as a quest for balance: the magical realization of an ideal. Richard MacDonald explores the concept of balance in works that challenge our perceptions and take us on a journey into imagination, possibilities, and inspiration. Our Nature strives for balance in all things, and of all things it is most elusive. Moments of perfect balance defy nature, and yet exalt it at the same time: in this paradox Richard MacDonald has found a rich field of inspiration.
