HIS: WEAPONS OF MASS DESIGN
Bay Area conceptual artist Peter Gronquist spends many holidays and vacations visiting Grandma in Palm Springs. He draws energy from the desert’s meditative scenery and finds inspiration throughout Joshua Tree National Park and the Indian Canyons. His last solo show in Los Angeles, The Revolution Will Be Fabulous: A Weapons of Mass Designer Show, featured Gucci, Chanel, and Versace assault rifles, as well as Fendi chainsaws and other designer killer machines for $5,000 apiece.
HERS: CROWN FOR MODERN DIVAS
Celebrity couture designer Louis Mariette has dazzled the heads of top divas, including Joan Collins, Lady Gaga, Jerry Hall, Kate Moss, and Paris Hilton (who went to private prep school in Rancho Mirage). This modern-day crown is the Chapeau d’Amour (Hat of Love). Studded with diamonds and woven with platinum, the piece is valued at $2.7 million.
