STEPPING FORWARD
This month’s Share the Love fundraiser of the Make-a-Wish Foundation puts a novel spin on the charity walk. Instead of walking a track or park, participants will stroll El Paseo and stop in boutiques offering them special deals. The stroll starts at 10 a.m. and concludes around 1 p.m. at Cuistot, where Chef Bernard Dervieux will serve gourmet treats to the stroll-and-shoppers. The walk on Feb. 18 precedes the event’s tennis tournament on Feb. 19 and golf tournament on Feb. 20. www.sharethelovecharityevent.com

TEMPORARY HOUSING
Modernism Week has brought us pop-up stores before, but this year’s event (Feb. 16-26) brings us a “pop-up” house. LivingHomes of Santa Monica, a developer of modern, sustainably designed, prefabricated houses, will debut its new model (and its first one-story house) on the corner of North Palm Canyon Drive and Chino Drive in Palm Springs. You can buy one these houses installed for $200,000. www.livinghomes.net

LUCKY DOG
When Glamour magazine invited its readers to “Meet the Rock-Star Dermatologists” of the West Coast in its November issue, Dr. Wendy Roberts of Palm Springs was among the five selected pros to offer tips. Roberts revealed this nugget: “As a child, I gave my dog facials.”
