When Rafael “Alf Alpha” Lopez left Palm Springs for L.A., he knew he’d eventually re-settle in his hometown. “I left to find inspiration and to make a name for myself,” he says.
He grew up with diverse musical influences, from his parents’ native Mexican tunes to his sisters’ Grateful Dead records to MTV’s hip-hop, funk, and jazz. He mixes it all together as a professional DJ under his brand Super Sondido.
Working everything from intimate parties to corporate events, he also teaches students how to spin tracks. He enjoys dabbling in art and has even designed a pair of kicks for Adidas, his sponsor.
