It’s hot.

Nothing new there.

But now you can do something about it.

The Riviera Palm Springs Resort & Spa is opening its doors to the community on Thursday nights from 7 to 10 p.m. starting this week (June 20) through Oct. 20 to enjoy a relaxing evening by the pool, listen to live music, munch on a burger from the bar and enjoy some of the signature drinks of the night.

“Hot as Hell” is a new promotion by the Palm Springs resort to make its amenities available to the community at-large for a special evening.

“We want to open our doors and bring people back in,” said Elizabeth Grillos, regional director of sales and marketing for Noble House Hotels and Resorts, which owns the Riviera.

“On Thursday nights, there are people out on the main drag of Palm Springs,” she continued. “This is also a night out, but it’s alternative to going out to dinner or walking up and down the street at Village Fest. Or maybe you come here after that.”

The Riviera has a spacious pool area complete with cabanas available to rent Thursday nights at $100 for up to 10 people. There is seating around the pool, around the bar while a live music act performs with space for dancing.

The Bikini Bar menu includes items like Beef Sliders, Crispy Chicken Wings and Crisp Lettuce Wraps, while the refreshments feature rum and tequila, draft and can beers, wine and sparkling wine.

“Now you have a reason to come in, try out the bar, have a casual evening, an easy evening,” Gallos said. “Put your feet in the pool and relax.”

Live musical acts will change every week, and Gallos said, adding "Hot as Hell” will become an annual event at the Riviera.

“Once the heat starts again next year, probably after the last music festival, we’ll start it again – probably start it in May and take it through October,” she said.

The Riviera recently welcomed a new general manager, Marco Perry, and new director of sales and marketing, Patrick Connors.

"Community outreach has been a big part of every property I have managed, and I look forward to doing the same here at the Riviera," Perry said.
