L.A. pop artist Robert Therrien has a reputation for creating sculptures that take on a life of their own. His work magnifies the scale of common objects into an Alice in Wonderland metamorphosis that heightens the viewer’s experience, literally and figuratively dwarfing viewers by the objects’ greatness. One of his towering stacks of plates appears in the Rodin to Now: Modern Sculpture exhibition at Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert.
