Yes, it really happened. The snowflakes started falling, and falling, and falling, and falling — and they stayed around long enough to make, among other things, Frosty the Snowman. The historic date: January 31, 1978. A total of one and a half inches fell in Palm Springs.
The Spa Hotel, site of the hot springs that gave Palm Springs its first name, Agua Caliente. Only it doesn't look very hot now, does it?
