ANOTHER HOT PINK SUMMER AT PS HOMEBOYS
Bold, high-gloss indoor-outdoor furnishings by Tupelo Goods, designed and made in the United States, are one of the modern mainstays at the PS HomeBoys showroom in downtown Palm Springs. For a vibrant yet fleeting season, a limited-edition pink joins the orange, aqua, and white party around the pool. Among the thousands of wallpaper samples and poppy novelties for every room, customers find the sleek Tupelo Goods chairs, side tables, and ottomans a well-priced buy, compelling for more than their colors.
“Their marine-grade polyethylene can go on the Baja or tanning shelf right inside your pool,” says PS HomeBoys co-owner Niels Kosman. “They can withstand bright sunlight and the occasional sandstorm and require minimal maintenance. Just hose them off to clean. What people really love is the back support slanted at the perfect angle to feel comfortable.”
Tupelo Goods’ founders honed their expertise at Yeti, fabricating premium coolers to weather the elements. Now the showroom ships the ergonomic chairs to homes across the country. Shown here at the Birdie vacation rental by PS HomeBoys, the UV-stable Loop Chair in pink will always be bright, but it’s only available temporarily.

MODERN DARLING OF THE DESERT
There are homes where books are strewn about, and there are homes about which an entire book is published. High Desert Retreat by Aidlin Darling Design (Images Publishing, 2024) falls into the latter category, the home’s site-sensitive framework prompting a monograph recording and illustrating every significant moment of its lineage, from concept to realization.
Joshua Aidlin and David Darling, partners in the San Francisco–based architecture and design firm, camped on a barren bluff in Mountain Center to immerse themselves in the nuances of climate, light, and terrain surrounding their clients’ future home. “In every project we undertake, we design for all five senses, and High Desert Retreat is emblematic of that process,” says Aidlin. “In plan, section, and elevation, the pinyon trees, the adjacent boulders, and the distant mountain ranges would become the sculptures and paintings in a biophilic museum,” one designed to protect the native landscape while unobtrusively contrasting its organic forms.

WHY PS212 HOME LOVES THIS GERMAN KITCHEN
After five years in Uptown Palm Springs assisting homeowners, architects, and designers in customizing high-quality European kitchens and much more, PS212 Home owners David Dunn and Larry Kampf have swapped one German kitchen manufacturer for another.
Leicht, founded in 1926, bills itself as “The Architectural Kitchen” and exists to ensure that a beautiful architectural house has a beautiful architectural kitchen. Clean lines, minimal hardware, and the seamless integration of its designs into the home have made Leicht both award-winning and best-selling on a global level. Three new kitchen displays at PS212 Home invite sampling from the German menu of features and options, including hands-free functionality, pantry pull-outs and tray-organized drawers, and glass-front cabinetry with interior lighting you can dim, brighten, or alter color temperature via an app.
The use of water-based lacquers as well as timber from sustainably managed forests underscore the brand’s commitment to eco-friendly production.
In terms of design services, “I always tell people I can do as much or as little as they need,” Dunn says. His deep knowledge taps into his background as an architect. “I design the kitchen and we collaborate, or I can help with a kitchen they come in with that’s already designed, if they like. I know the product, so typically I’m very involved.”
