Take an Elegant Adventure

Thrill at the unbridled beauty of Banff or Alaska’s inside passage, embrace the past on a vintage or streamliner rail car, seduce your senses on a luxury cruise ship, or sip sweet tea from the deck of a paddleboat. The luxury travel/tour company PS-Uncommon Journeys offers vacation packages and door-to-door service for customers who have the time and means to leisurely travel.

Co-owner Kendall Grigsby learned about customer service from a milkman, who advised him to be dependable, reliable, and personable. This approach sets his company apart in a market flooded with DIY travel websites and giants like Expedia and Travelocity.

At any given time, you can find information on 15 to 20 trips — from the Canadian Rockies to the Mississippi River — on the company’s website. Packages range from $2,000 to $10,000. But don’t expect to pay for your passage via the Internet. “We don’t sell anything online,” says Grigsby, who favors a personal approach. “We want to talk to you one-on-one.”

Getting from point A to point B and back again has never been so luxurious.
