Let's face it — late-night diners have a short — albeit growing — list of options in the Palm Springs area, but one definitely has a following.

The Nest, located on Highway 111 in Indian Wells, grew a good foundation of customers over its 45 years in the desert, and now, that's paid off.

OpenTable.com, which allows customers to make reservations and rate their restaurants online, recently named The Nest as one of 2012's Top 100 Late Night Dining Restaurants in the country.

That's nothing to ignore, given one of the winners was Top Chef winner Illan Hall's The Gorbals in Los Angeles.

“We are very pleased by this acknowledgment from OpenTable diners,” said Dodi Henry, Owner of The Nest “We are proud to know that these diners thoroughly enjoyed their overall experience at The Nest and gave us such high marks."

"The top late-night dining restaurants are a hit with foodies, fun seekers, and industry insiders," said Caroline Potter, OpenTable's Chief Dining Officer. "From hot culinary creations, cool cocktail programs, and soundtracks to match, these winning restaurants have high-energy atmospheres that will make any diner want to stay up past bedtime."

The winners of this award were based on more than 5 million reviews collected by users of OpenTable.com.

Earlier this year, two Palm Springs restaurants landed spots on the Top 100 Hot Spots in America.  Trio, located on North Palm Canyon Drive, and Wangs, located on South Indian Canyon Drive, were both named on that OpenTable.com list.
