"Sushi and Craft Beer" has taken the desert by storm.
The moniker comes from combining the creative talents of Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse in Rancho Mirage with Venue Sushi Bar & Sake Lounge in Palm Desert into a popular choice for foodie fans.
Friends Arthur Vasquez, operations manager of Babe's, and chef/owner Engin Onural of Venue and their marketing agency OnTable Media have found magic on mixing award winning craft brews and famous barbecue with excellent sushi and sake.
Guests enjoyed a craft beer reception that included beers from a number of Southern California breweries including Stone Brewing Company.
Dinner focused solely on Babe's local craft beer, while Sushi highlights included Engin's famous "Venue roll," a spicy tuna stuffed squash blossom that is dipped in batter and deep fried. Engin also served a smoky tri-tip sashimi that was paired with Babe's multi-award winning Blackfin lager.
Look for "Sushi & Craft Beer 03" in late spring 2016.
