Tiffany & Co. is setting the bullion bar again with the introduction of a new jewelry collection featuring the rarest of the rare: fancy yellow diamonds radiating color and charisma. Capturing every facet of Tiffany’s grand heritage, the collection recalls the company’s founding in New York in 1837 leading to its global reputation for jewelry of dazzling quality, including the famous 128.54-carat Tiffany Diamond that inspired the cuts and shapes of these extraordinary yellow diamonds.

The stones are distinguished by a color described as being as pure as sunlight, with degrees of saturation and intensity that rank them among the world’s finest and most prized diamonds. Stonecutters at Tiffany have tailored the Tiffany Diamond’s cushion cut to maximize the stone’s natural color, and Tiffany designers have set the diamonds in modern jewelry coveted by connoisseurs and fashionistas alike.

Tiffany Bezet, a contoured ring design based on the traditional bezel setting, blazes with yellow diamonds in a variety of shapes – pear, heart, oval, and cushion — handset in 18 karat gold. Beautiful alone, they can also be stacked for added impact to create a look that grows richer and more luxurious with every ring.

These brilliant stones are procured through an agreement with Gem Diamonds’ Ellendale mine in Western Australia, known the world over for the quality of their rough stones.

According to Jon King, executive vice president of Tiffany & Co., “This agreement gives us a unique opportunity to extend our diamond authority with exceedingly rare fancy yellow diamonds. The collection underscores our design heritage with settings that fully reveal the stones’ natural beauty and warm color.”

Only about one in 10,000 diamonds is a fancy color, and very few conform to Tiffany’s meticulous standards. The new yellow diamonds that make the cut will no doubt become part of the jeweler’s distinctive heritage.

The new collections for 2010, featuring these remarkable diamonds and other stunning gemstones, are being unveiled in New York City mid-July. Select parts of the collection are expected this fall in the Palm Desert store on El Paseo, located at 73585 El Paseo.
