A who-what-wear of weddings in the Coachella Valley

1 Out in Nature
Whether it’s pre-wedding pics in front of those crazy windmills, vows whispered deep in the Indian Canyons, or a backcountry Jeep tour just for fun, couples are incorporating more warm, fresh air than ever before. Photographer Chris Miller captured this bohemian bride, who held her ceremony with her groom in a field off Highway 74.

2 Illuminated Vintage Letters
Guests will never miss out on the cupcakes, thanks to these marquee lights created by designer Joey Lizotte at Artisan Event Floral Décor. “I wanted to give our dessert tables a little more fun and style,” he says. Shown here is “SWEET,” taken by photographer Michael Segal at a Parker Palm Springs wedding. Lizotte can do other messages as well, including LOVE, ME & YOU, and the couple’s initials. He’s even done IN-N-OUT to light up a burger bar table.

3 Party Animals
The desert loves a pooch that minds his manners. Especially when he’s trotting down a petal-strewn aisle, like this one at the Viceroy. Pet-friendly hotels like the Viceroy Palm Springs, Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Alcazar Palm Springs, Parker Palm Springs, Hard Rock Hotel, Del Marcos Hotel, The Saguaro, and Riviera Palm Springs Resort & Spa welcome pups at your wedding. A walkable downtown lined with sidewalk restaurants ensures they can join you for meals on the honeymoon, too.

4 Music-Themed Celebrations
Palm Springs’ retro flavor extends to music, inspiring couples to get in the groove. Photographer Christine Arnold had a blast with a recent couple at the Riviera who asked guests to sign framed LPs — a sleek guest book destined for home décor.

5 Across-the-Street Shots
Stop traffic with these bridal party pics. Or, allow photographer Katie McGihon to lead you to one of the area’s many quiet back streets and have the avenue all to yourselves.
