Oscar Night buzz is coming to the desert.

Red Carpet. Who is wearing who. Posing for your close-up.

Where can you be a part of the excitement?

Vicky’s of Santa Fe in Indian Wells will host its inaugural Red Carpet Oscar Party on Feb. 22 from 3:30-8 p.m. in support of Variety of the Desert Children’s Charity. Tickets to the evening are $85, inclusive of passed appetizers, a lavish buffet, cocktails/wine, tax and gratuity. The net proceeds from the event will benefit programs helping physically limited and underprivileged children in the Coachella Valley.

A buffet of bites inspired by the selections served at the 2015 Governor’s Ball will delight guests as they view the 2015 Academy Awards on screens throughout the restaurant.

Guests will enter on the red carpet, complete with a photographer to snap them in their “best dressed” attire upon arrival. With an ensemble cast of sponsors such as Integrated Wealth Management, Farley Interlocking Paving Stones, Icon Presentations, Crater Lake Vodka, Classic Wines of CA, and Roberto Coin Fine Jewelry, the category for “most charitable” is a dead heat. There will be a silent and live auction with items and services donated by the sponsors and live music performances by impersonator/vocalist Lizann Warner.

Chicken Pot Pie is a menu favorite at Vicky’s and guests will enjoy mini versions in celebration of the Oscars.

Crater Lake Vodka will sponsor an “ice luge” and pour complimentary cocktails. The Academy Awards telecast will begin at 4 p.m. on the 8-foot by 10-foot big screen and on screens throughout the bar area.

Dancing Jumbo Shrimp on Bamboo Skewers might be nominated for “Best Lead in an ensemble buffet."

Variety of the Desert Children’s Charity assists children throughout the Coachella Valley with a variety of programs that benefit physically limited and underprivileged children. Examples are providing kids with bikes and helmets, offering specially equipped passenger vans to transport kids to medical facilities, events, and school after-care programs, and purchasing wheelchairs and mobility equipment for children in need of financial assistance.

Herb Crusted Lamb Chops are sure to get their “props” from Oscar Party guests as they cast ballots for their favorite picks as part of the evening's festivities.

Vicky’s of Santa Fe Owner, Marc Laliberte is generously supporting this cause and Vicky’s has a tie to the Variety Board in fellow supporter, Marc Lodovico, who is a driving force behind the event.
