"My practice is in the field of periodontics — taking care of the foundation of the teeth,” Dr. Ellie Kheirkhahi-Love says. “Our philosophy of patient care is to utilize the latest technology in a balance of minimally invasive to maximally effective surgical treatments. We basically have three different groups of patients that we see. The first group is patients who live here full time; the second is patients who visit us here during the winter months; and the third is patients who very specifically come to our facility to get dental treatment done and then go back to their hometowns.”
In her daily practice, Kheirkhahi-Love enjoys “amazing collaborations with doctors in the Coachella Valley,” she says. “This would not happen in a larger area. It has been very beneficial in our overall treatment philosophy.”
She has also been a strong proponent of local economic and workforce development. “We are a proud supporter of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership and have been involved since the beginning of their work,” she says. “They are great people and their mission is admirable.”
Dr. Kheirkhahi-Love is particularly proud of CVEP’s collaboration to create a dental academy for interested high school students in the Coachella Valley. “We were able to educate and inspire young individuals in the field of dentistry, encouraging young individuals to join the workforce for our industry,” she says.
Living in the Coachella Valley has been a “really amazing experience for us,” Dr. Kheirkhahi-Love says. “My husband and I moved here 16 years ago. We like the small environment and small-town feeling. It’s important for us to feel at home and to see our patients in grocery stores and restaurants. The sense of community here in the Coachella Valley has helped us to be and do the best we can to help others.”
