As he celebrates 30 years of successful medical practice in Palm Springs, Dr. Scott Aaronson says, “I’m still as passionate as ever about the place I chose to call home. For eight months out of the year we have great weather. During the summer, if you want to cool off, you can visit the mountains or the beach. We have convenient access to many different areas because of our location.”
Aaronson, a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who trained in the early ’80s with the inventor of the breast implant in Houston, Texas, moved to Palm Springs in 1984 to open his practice in the Coachella Valley.
“We perform all aspects of facial rejuvenation and aesthetic body contouring,” Aaronson says. “On an average day, we perform various procedures such as facelifts, eye lifts, breast enlargement, breast reductions, breast lifts, revisionary breast surgery, and body contouring, including liposuction and tummy tucks.” Aaronson began his practice in an office building across the street from Desert Regional Medical Center.
To accommodate the rapid growth of his practice, he built the Aaronson Plastic Surgery Center, a freestanding surgery center that opened in 1998 on property adjacent to Desert Regional Medical Center. The facility is state-certified and equipped with fully staffed recovery suites, allowing patients to stay overnight to be closely monitored following their procedures.
“My practice has a very small turnover of employees,” he says. “However, when the need arises, the valley’s many training programs for medical personnel make it easy to find qualified new personnel.”
Aaronson was just starting out when he moved here, he says. “Since that time, I’ve married, had two children, and experienced tremendous growth in my medical practice. I’ve observed a lot of growth in the Coachella Valley in general, and I think that anyone who decides to move here will find it a rewarding experience. I made the right decision in coming to Palm Springs.”
