Author Susan Arnaut Smith’s latest Grace Descanso novel Out at Night and Roma Bogard of Palm Springs has written a book titled For the Love of Art

Out at Night
Author Susan Arnaut Smith’s more-than-passing-mention of The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies in her latest Grace Descanso novel paid off. After the Follies e-newsletter mentioned being featured in Out at Night (St. Martin’s Press), the San Diego author said that “a gazillion people” bought the book. The murder mystery, set in Palm Springs, describes the theater, the patrons, and the show and includes a cast member character who had been dating the victim. A quote from a Palm Springs wind farm tour guide sets the stage before Chapter 1: “All the predators come out at night.”

For the Love of Art
Roma Bogard of Palm Springs has written a book titled For the Love of Art (Author House) that offers insights into three artists: Mabel Hutchinson, Ruth Stark, and herself. In addition to explaining each of their artistic styles in detail, Bogard includes examples of and information about pieces of art in her personal collection.
