TAKE A HIKE

Hiking Can Be Cool in the Summer
With temperatures expected to hover around 110 this weekend, hiking would probably be last on your list of things to do. But the Friends of Desert Mountains have a 'cool' hike set for July 26 in the higher-elevation Idyllwild area.

IT'S IN FASHION

What's the Latest Trend?
The Palm Springs Women in Film & Television sponsors a mini-fashion show with styling tips, accessories and clothing trends July 26 at Chico's on El Paseo. Bring a jacket or pair of pants with you to have it restyled in time for the season.

LIVE MUSIC

Jeremiah Clark Makes 1st Desert Visit
He loves to travel, especially by train, but he will likely be using another mode of transportation to reach the desert for a July 26 show at The Purple Room. The openly gay singer describes his music as Americana with bits and pieces of blues, gospel, folk and country thrown in.

Belinda Carlisle, The Go-Go's Headline '80s Show
Belinda Carlisle is training to be a yoga instructor, but for six weeks out of the year she hooks back up with the rest of The Go-Go's and takes the stage. This time they are partnering with some other '80s bands July 26 at Agua Caliente Resort Spa Casino in Rancho Mirage.

Cameron Neilson Found his Inspiration in Palm Springs
You wouldn't know it to hear hbim sing, but talk to Cameron Neilson and his Scottish origins really comes through. The singer is back in Palm Springs to sing a song inspired from a local performance two years ago for Desert AIDS Project. This one will take place July 25 at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs.

Tessanne Chin Sings From New CD in The Voice Tour
When she was crowned Season 5 champ of The Voice, Tessanne Chin was ready. She now has a CD out, and part of The Voice Tour July 26 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino will spotlight some of those songs.

Boston Brings "Heaven on Earth Tour" to Valley
You might not expect a band to be the same after its lead singer, Brad Delp, dies in 2007. But Boston continues to be Smokin' with much of the same power thanks to founder and guitartist Tom Scholz. Boston will play the area twice – July 27 at Pechanga Casino in Temecula and Aug. 1 at Agua Caliente Resort Spa Casino in Rancho Mirage.
