The 16th annual Pets on Parade (POP) Awards Luncheon provided the perfect backdrop for announcing Palm Springs Life's Cutest Pet Award winner, who will grace the August 2014 cover.

Roxie Davenport, a 6-year-old white greyhound, was selected after her story and photo won over the Palm Springs Life editorial staff.

Roxie, whose story is detailed in the August issue, took the stage at the POP Luncheon with owner Paul Jankowski after being introduced by Joan Page McKenna, senior editor at Palm Springs Life. The story also reveals the online voters' choice award winner.

More than 400 people attended POP at the Desert Princess Resort in Cathedral City. The luncheon annually benefits the Humane Society of the Desert and Pegasus Therapeutic Riding.
