Fruit Forward

Monte De Oro Winery Temecula, CA

Monte De Oro’s current wine selection reflects the interests of Monte De Oro’s 68 family owners, whose goal it is to produce the best possible wine the Temecula region can support.

Monte De Oro’s wines are crafted in a style which showcases the true varietal character of each grape variety, balanced with the fruit-forward terroir of the Temecula Valley and subtle influences from extended barrel aging in nearly 100% French oak barrels. What sets Monte De Oro apart is our careful attention to vineyard practices, such as canopy management and controlling yields, as well as our delicate handling of the fruit and wine throughout its time in the winery. As a result, Monte De Oro’s signature wines are elegant, balanced, well-structured and integrated, great with food or by themselves, and approachable in their youth but with the structure to improve for years to come.

Approximately 66% of Monte De Oro grape production is red grapes. This includes Monte De Oro’s fourth vineyard, located at the Winery. Red grape production includes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Petite Syrah, Mourvedre, Malbec, Grenache, and Cinsault.
