Catch the last El Paseo Artwalk of the season on May 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. Be sure to stop by Christian Hohmann Fine Art (73660 El Paseo, Ste. 2, Palm Desert) for the Armin Mueller-Stahl exhibition. Although best known as an actor in such films as Angels & Demons, Mueller-Stahl has been painting since his 20s.
Also during ArtWalk, Desert Art Collection & Sculpture Garden (45350 San Luis Rey Ave., Palm Desert) hosts Desertscapes 2012 artists Andrew Dickson, Diane Best, Birgitta Kappe, John Eagle, Michael Anthony Nisperos, and others. Drop in to meet them from 5 to 8 p.m.
For fun, free art education and exploration, join the docent-guided public art tour in Palm Desert on May 12. Meet up at 10 a.m. at the northeast corner of El Paseo and Highway 74 for a one-hour tour. No reservations are needed, but wear comfy shoes. Also on May 12, from 6 to 9 p.m., mingle with artist Rafi Perez at Images By Gideon Fine Art Gallery (2682 S. Cherokee Way, Palm Springs). Perez’s show runs May 2-June 10.
See Mike Rebholz’s starkly beautiful photographs inspired by ice-fishing shacks on Wisconsin lakes before the exhibition ends on May 31. He’s at Michael H. Lord Gallery (1090 N. Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs).
