Every October for the past five decades, the Palm Springs Historical Society has reopened its museum’s doors to visitors.

Founded in 1955, the Palm Springs Historical Society has been preserving the history of Palm Springs for 58 years.

Housed in the oldest remaining building in Palm Springs [1884], the McCallum Adobe (pictured right), the Historical Society operates a museum representing the rich history Palm Springs claims.

Thousands of photographs and more than 10 installations are exhibited within its walls.

As Palm Springs celebrates its 75th anniversary, there are a multitude of ways to learn more about this desert treasure. One of the more intriguing methods is by exploring the city’s history.

Weekly, the Palm Springs Historical Society will share a story whose time and place corresponds with today.
