2011 Hemet-Ryan Air Show – Air Show Enthusiasts taking cover under the vintage static displays

November of 2013 marks the return of the Hemet-Ryan Air Show. The biennial event is scheduled to land at the Hemet-Ryan Airport on Saturday, Nov. 2nd, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The air show is hosted by Riverside County’s Economic Development Agency and the City of Hemet and is free to the community.

The Hemet-Ryan Airport will be transformed into an aviation enthusiast delight, with a wide array of military, vintage and civilian aircraft static displays. The air show schedule includes performances by aerobatic aces; Tim Weber, Melissa Pemberton, Golden Stars Skydiving and Jon Melby.  The free community event also offers a Kids’ Zone, a variety of food options, non-profit and merchandise vendors.

The Hemet-Ryan Airport is owned and operated by the Riverside County Economic Development Agency. It has been in operation since 1940 when it was constructed for use by the United States Army Corps to train pilots.  Currently it houses the Hemet-Ryan Air Attack which is a joint Air Attack/Helitack base operated by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. It is one of 19 tanker bases strategically located throughout California.  The County of Riverside has been hosting the biennial Hemet-Ryan Air Show since 2005.
