The best place to live may not be New York, Monte Carlo, or Dubai, but rather and Dubai. When the 981-foot Utopia cruise ship launches in 2013, its residents will travel the world for New York Fashion Week, Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival, America’s Cup, British Open, Royal Ascot, and other world-famous events.

Yes, you read that right: The ship will be “home” to 200 residence owners. In addition to “estates” ranging from 1,450 to 6,100 square feet (prices range from $3.9 million to $25 million), Utopia includes signature restaurants, bars and lounges, luxury retail boutiques, a casino, full-service spa, gymnasium, swimming pools, indoor and outdoor theaters, business and medical facilities, golf center with putting green and simulators, and 206-suite hotel.

Utopia also will feature a philanthropy concierge and will host philanthropic galas and humanitarian summits. The ship will stay in port 270 days a year. Expect your neighbors to be as global as the itinerary. Those who have already secured residences come from Australia, China, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas (the latter includes Pat Boone).

Sales offices with full-scale walkthroughs of interiors are located on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and Madison Avenue in New York. www.utopiaresidences.com
