Just a bit east of Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs is the idyllically named Via Del Sol. Unfortunately, the subdivision that began construction on this charming cul-de-sac in 2006 was foreclosed on after just 10 homes were built.

But now that sunnier times have returned to the real estate market, the property has been purchased by Gallery Homes, a full-service real estate company that focuses on finding and developing residential single-family homes in prime areas of Southern California.

Currently under construction, their new community of Gallery Vistas will fill in the gaps in the subdivision with 22 additional homes on a private street that will have a gated entry, a dog/walk park, landscaped medians, and enhanced front and perimeter block walls.

“We understand the importance of quality, value, style, innovation, convenience, and location, making it a definite goal to incorporate these elements to provide the home and lifestyle our buyers deserve,” says Gallery Homes President, Rick Hauser. “Gallery typically focuses on smaller, intimate neighborhoods and usually upscale to our competitors.”

Elevation 1B: Residence One features two bedrooms, a den, and two baths in 1,819 square feet.

Hauser notes that some of the reasons the Gallery team chose Desert Hot Springs was because of their appreciation for the neighborhood around Mission Lakes and its amenities, serenity, and views. The location is also only about 15 minutes from downtown Palm Springs and 10 minutes from the freeway.

The homes, which should be completed in about 12 months, will feature a mix of Mediterranean, Pueblo Revival, and traditional architecture. “Once we purchased the property, we had several meetings with the existing HOA and existing neighbors living in the community, as well as the City of Desert Hot Springs,” notes Hauser.

“We decided to utilize the existing elevations as they have been very well received and had a good variety of styles for the demographic of the buyer in that market. We believed that maintaining consistency within the community was an important aspect, so we stayed close to the original architecture, but revitalized the interior floor plans to bring them more up to date.”

There will be three floor plans ranging in size from 1,819 to 2,659 square feet. “Our desire was to create open floor plans with kitchens open to the expansive great room,” says Hauser. “We wanted to create family and entertaining space to build homes the way that people and families live. We also wanted to have covered rear patios to extend the living space [and allow homeowners to] enjoy the beautiful desert evenings.”

The primary difference between the floor plans is bedroom and garage count. All of the houses will all have gourmet kitchens, wood cabinets, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, large pantries, great rooms with fireplaces, master bedroom suites, and lots of windows to keep the spaces light and bright.

Hauser expects that many buyers will be empty-nesters and retirees, as well as some families, so the homes are being built to accommodate a wide range of needs in order to appeal to a variety of buyers.

Pricing for the houses starts at $279,900.
