Golfers Will Enjoy Course Improvements at SilverRock Resort

Arnold Palmer Group crafts architectural changes to the course

Golfers teeing up at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta will love the new look of the back nine holes as a result of the canal realignment project completed over the summer by the Coachella Valley Water District.

For example, when golfers step up to the 15th hole, they will sense a much more open feel off the tee. Those second or third shots on the par 4, 525-yard hole will now land on 40 to 50 yards of grass lying up short of the green, as compared with 15 yards before the renovations.

In addition, golfers will notice the back tees sit at 545 yards, and two formal bunkers were eliminated near the green. The lush natural look of the hole has been broadened around the tee boxes while being pulled back to the right of the green.

On the 12th hole, golfers can take heart in knowing their tee shots won’t wind up in the canal. One of the tee boxes has been moved back to lessen the chance of a ball taking an unexpected dip in the water after the canal realignment brought it closer to the tees.

The outdoor patio at SilverRock is a favorite hangout for golfers and non-golfers alike.

The Arnold Palmer Group crafted architectural changes to the course impacted by the summer-long canal realignment.

“When the City of La Quinta informed me about the canal realignment work, I wanted to make sure my design team and I were fully involved in the project to enhance the integrity of SilverRock Resort, “ says Palmer. “The necessary canal realignment led to some interesting enhancements. We hope you are pleased with the result.”

“I think the players will enjoy the changes to the back nine and new look,” adds Randy Duncan, general manager at SilverRock Resort.

In addition to the course’s return to play, the grill at SilverRock returns offering breakfast all day and lunch. The picturesque and tranquil outdoor patio is a favorite hangout for golfers and non-golfers alike.

SilverRock Resort is owned by the City of La Quinta and is managed by Landmark Golf Management. Planning is underway for expansion to 36 holes of championship golf, a world-class practice center, retail venues, luxury boutique hotels and more.
