Dubbed the rock ‘n’ roll Chef by Rolling Stone magazine, Kerry Simon seems a natural fit to bring his restaurant to the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs.

The addition of Simon Kitchen + Bar will take the place of the current Sessions restaurant inside the hotel.

Simon is known for his legendary eateries in Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, and abroad.

“Kerry’s reputation in the kitchen is outstanding,” says Andy Carpiac, owner of Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs. “The menu that he has created for Simon Kitchen + Bar is amazing, and we are so fortunate to draw on his experience as the chef revered by celebrities and music legends including David Bowie, Matt Dillon, Ivana Trump, Debbie Harry and more.”

Simon senses the timing is right to add the desert to his dossier.

“Palm Springs is hot right now,” says Simon. “I’m very excited to be a part of this laid-back, hipster getaway. The menu that I’ve developed for Simon Kitchen + Bar is a little edgy, a little fun, and full of contemporary takes on the comfort foods we all love.”

The menu, which has an emphasis on sharing, includes social plates, sandwiches, entrées and stone-oven flatbreads. Social plates include tempura green beans made with pepper jelly and cream cheese; bacon jam served with baked brie and toasted baguette; and “Devil’s Eggs” complete with crispy pancetta and caviar.
