AAP – Food Samaritans  has created a special online auction to raise much needed funds after the coronavirus pandemic canceled their annual event originally slated for early May. AAP provides nutritional support for low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses in the Coachella Valley.

The auction will take place June 1-7, and prospective bidders can take a preview of the auction items. Bidding will open at 12:15 a.m. (PDT) June 1 and will close at 5 p.m. June 7 (PDT). Bidders will be required to register on the secure site which will facilitate payment and provide an option for bidder notifications via text or email. Registered users may then bid on unique auction items, make donations in any amount, or participate in AAP’s ‘Jeannette Rockefeller Angel Program’.

The auction will offer an assortment of  items such as fine artwork consignments, restaurant and hotel packages, and unique excursions.  A fine selection of Baccarat crystal will also be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds being donated to AAP.

A few of the highlighted items include:

Private Tour of Jay Leno’s Famous Big Dog Garage. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Leno’s famed private car collection and “Big Dog Garage” in Burbank. Generally not open to the public, Leno’s custom-built Big Dog Garage contains his private collection of more than 200 automobiles and motorcycles. This is a working garage – not a museum.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show VIP Tickets. Much coveted and hard-to-get tickets to a live taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show at the Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank for you and your guest.

3.    Original Fine Artworks by the Artist Council.  Hand-selected and professionally curated for this event by Katherine Hough, the former chief curator of the Palm Springs Art Museum. The Artist Council sent a “call for submissions” to more than 300 local artists and 40 artworks were chosen.
