Students at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus have put their imprint on the annual edition of "Badlands".
The yearly publication features original creative work (fiction, non-fiction and poetry) in Spanish and English, and original translations from Spanish and Latin American literature edited by students at CSUSB’s Palm Desert Campus.
The magazine also accepts original visual art submissions, including photography. The publication is funded by the university’s Instructionally Related Programs Board.
To celebrate the publication’s release, a reading was held on Nov. 28 in the campus’s Oliphant Auditorium. Contributors to the 2012 edition read from their work and several musicians performed, including an acoustic act from Pete Schuler and Taylor Wade, and music from the Tribesmen, Las Feas, and Town Troubles.
“Badlands” accepts submissions online. The public is encouraged to submit work for the next issue.
