On May 31, 1955, Frank Sinatra and Jimmy Van Heusen were awakened from a sound sleep in the middle of the night by a prowler outside of Sinatra’s Tamarisk Country Club home, according to an article in the Desert Sun.

Sinatra and Van Heusen caught the 21-year-old suspect, but he broke away and was chased and recaptured by a private patrolman.

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were called and took the suspect into custody, but he was later released when Sinatra and Van Heusen declined to press charges.
