Together and separately they wrote many of the favorite songs that were popular throughout the second half of the 20th century.

Other stars that reportedly enjoyed the open air café of The Desert Inn Coffee Shop during that hot and dry summer were Gloria Swanson and Herbert Marshall.

Footwear designer, George Brent supposedly named the newest shoe in his collection, “The Desert Breeze” because of the hours he pleasantly spent at The Desert Inn Coffee Shop patio in the heart of downtown Palm Springs watching the world walk by.
