Aloha, Modernism Week – Hacienda Cantina & Beach Club, 1555 S. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs
8-10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10.
Ticketed reception from 6-8 pm; doors open at 7:45 p.m. for free public screening of the 1961 Elvis Presley movie, Blue Hawaii.

Midcentury Bike Ride – Departs from Ernest Coffee, 1101 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.

Join the businesses of Palm Springs' celebrated shopping district for cocktails, music, shopping, drawings, and fun. At 7:30 p.m., watch the 'Lighting of the Torches' at the corner of West Via Lola and North Palm Canyon Drive, the former home of "Don the Beachcomber."
